Art Show 2011
Tomorrow night from 6-8 pm is the annual Pollard Art Show. Students in 7th and 8th grade who take art with Ms. Carlotto, Ms. Wall or Ms. Hopkins will all have their work displayed in the show. The art teachers have been working hard all year teaching our students and helping them learn to create in various formats. They have also been working hard for the past several days hanging artwork on every available wall space, and getting everything ready for tomorrow’s show.

Some of the work represented in the show was created using paint, colored pencils, ink, pencil, collage, chalk pastel and ceramics. There is also a special section of the show showcasing Global Art, created by 7th graders.
When asked to say a little something about the year or the art show, Ms. Hopkins said “I think the kids worked really hard, and we’re very proud. Come and see us.” Ms. Carlotto added “This art show represents alot of focused energies and dedication.” Ms. Wall wrapped up by noting “Our students at Pollard have an understanding that there’s no shortcuts in aesthetics or creating art. They work and persevere, and progress follows their tenacity.”
Work + focused energy + dedication + perseverance + progress = the Pollard Art Show! Please join the hard working art teachers, Ms. Hopkins, Ms. Carlotto and Ms. Wall as well as their 7th and 8th grade students tomorrow (Thursday) from 6-8 pm in the Pollard lobby. Take a look around, and be amazed. You’ll be glad you came.
